Vehicle Modification Liability & Warranty Disclosure

 At Macklin Automotive: Performance & Lifts, we believe in full transparency regarding vehicle modifications. Suspension systems, lift kits, and performance upgrades can significantly change how a vehicle operates. This page outlines important information every customer should understand prior to authorizing work.

A signed Customer Liability Waiver & Release Agreement will be required in person before services begin.

Aftermarket modifications  (including lift kits, suspension systems, exhaust upgrades, drivetrain components, performance tuning, and other enhancements) alter factory design and engineering specifications.

These modifications may:

• Increase center of gravity and rollover risk
   
• Change braking distance, steering response, and overall handling
   
• Increase wear on suspension, steering, drivetrain, and tire components
   
• Cause changes in ride quality, vibration, noise, or driveline angles
   
• Affect fuel economy or daily drivability
   
• Reduce resale value
   
• Void or limit manufacturer warranties
   
• Affect insurance coverage or claims eligibility
   
• Impact compliance with local, state, or federal regulations
   
• Render a vehicle more suitable for off-road or show use depending on installed components
   

Operating a modified vehicle involves greater risk than operating a stock vehicle.

Suspension and performance modifications may result in:

• Firmer ride characteristics
   
• Increased road feel
   
• Driveline vibration
   
• Changes in steering feedback
   
• Altered vehicle dynamics
   

These characteristics are often normal outcomes of modification and are not considered defects in workmanship.

Performance gains such as horsepower increases, fuel economy improvements, or ride enhancements are not guaranteed.

As the vehicle owner, you are responsible for:

• Driving cautiously following modifications
   
• Scheduling and completing required maintenance and inspections
   
• Returning for recommended retorque services and alignments
   
• Informing your insurance provider of modifications
   
• Ensuring compliance with Indiana law and applicable regulations
   
• Disclosing any pre-existing vehicle concerns prior to service
   

Failure to maintain a modified vehicle properly may impact performance and warranty eligibility.

Aftermarket parts are covered solely by their respective manufacturer warranties, if any.

Vehicle manufacturers may deny warranty coverage for components affected by modifications. Macklin Automotive: Performance & Lifts does not control manufacturer warranty decisions.

Insurance carriers may adjust or deny coverage for modified vehicles. It is the vehicle owner’s responsibility to verify coverage.

By proceeding with services, customers acknowledge that vehicle modifications involve inherent risks. A signed Customer Liability Waiver & Release Agreement is required prior to service and applies to current and future lift kit and performance work unless updated in writing.
